In most cases we make use of standard display systems when manufacturing retail fixtures, usually with some custom elements to achieve the desired look and function. As the design of this shop was to be so unique there was no other suitable option but to invent a complete display system to realise the concept.

We were appointed by TATE to work from design intent produced by Kit Grover. Working through the designs, we developed the concepts into the final designs.

The key element of the appearance and function of the fixtures is the perforated mesh. This was developed along with the brackets and attachments for display. The carpentry elements are finished in maple veneer with a high spec finish (including titanium-oxide pigment). The largest single feature – the ‘Cinema marquee’  is not something you get asked to make every day, but was another interesting aspect to work on.
